Book Haul!! 15+ books at 50¢ a piece!

Hello friends! Today, I am very excited to be sharing a book haul with you guys! My cousin (yes... the same cousin that made my book collages and reads a lot of books with me!) recently told me that at her local thrift store, paperback books were 50¢ a piece, and when I expressed my jealousy about it, she graciously offered to grab a bunch for me and send them my way! Now, I trusted her with my money and had no idea what exactly she was going to bring home. After she returned from her shopping spree, she FaceTimed me, and we went through the books together! Some of them she decided to keep, and the rest she sent my way! I received the box today, and here are the books! I tried my best to present them in some sort of order...

Janette Oke's Women of the West Series

This is a 12-book series of stand-alone books. Each book centers on a different character and is completely separate from the other books. The six books I have in this collection are all older printings from the 1990s

A Gown of Spanish Lace

I read this book on Kindle a couple of years ago; however, when I did, I was currently on my dad's Amazon account, and when I switched over to my own account, I lost all the books I had bought, including this one. That being said, I am so excited to own a physical copy of it and be able to reread it!

Roses for Mama

I also read this book several years ago. I do own a physical copy, but I wanted to grab this copy because the cover matches the other books I now have in the series, and my original book is a cute hardcover edition that would make a nice gift for someone!

Julia's Last Hope

This is the only book in this series that I received today that has a different cover than the rest. (yes, it bothers me!) I actually already own a physical copy in the exact same edition, but once again, it would make a nice gift for one of my book-loving friends, and at only 50¢, why not?

A Woman Named Damaris

I have never read this book and know virtually nothing about it. I don't have much to say about this one except I am very excited to read it soon!

The Bluebird and the Sparrow

I'm a little nervous about this one. My favorite book blogger and booktuber, Lindsey from Books for Christian Girls, recently read this book and DNF it at 29%. Usually, my tastes align fairly close to her, so I am unsure if I will enjoy this one or not. She did say there were no content concerns and that it was the plot that she didn't enjoy, so we shall see!

The Calling of Emily Evans

I am also a bit nervous about this book.... According to the back cover, it seems to be about a woman who starts a church. While this sounds great, I am not supportive of female pastors. I guess we will see what exactly it means once I get into it! Hopefully it will not be my first 1-star or DNF of the blog!

The Centurion's Wife

This is the first book in the Acts of Faith series, a Christian fiction trilogy of the beginning of the early church. I borrowed these books from the library and loved the entire series, so I am excited to read it again! (Now I just need to find the other two books for a decent price...)

Return to Harmony

Once again, I read this book on Kindle and definitely enjoyed it, but it was on my dad's account, so I no longer own the ebook copy. Now, I am excited to read it again! To my knowledge, this is a standalone book.

The Birthright

This is the third book in the Song of Acadia series. I have been wanting to read this series for a long time, so I am excited to start my collection. I probably won't be reading it until I find at least the first two books, but it's a start!

Some Books by Michael Phillips, Judith Pella, Tracie Peterson, and Judith Miller

I don't have much to say about these books, so I will let the photos speak for themselves! The first three books (On the Trail of the Truth, A Place in the Sun, and The Pattern of Her Heart) are all miscellaneous books in two separate series, so I will probably not be reading them until I find the previous books in the series. The last book, Summer of the Midnight Sun, is the first book in a series and one I do own but haven't read. Why did I get it anyway? You guessed it: a possible future gift!

The Redemption of Sarah Cain

This is a standalone book by Beverly Lewis. I do own it already, but once again, it will be a good gifting book. I got my first copy for free, so it's a good deal!

The Missing

This is the second book in the Seasons of Grace series. I hope to find the first book and the rest of the books in the series soon so I can enjoy them all together!

The Englisher

This book did not come from the thrift store I mentioned, but was a book my cousin already owned. I own this entire series and read it already, but it always bothers me that the second book (this book) is in hardcover while the first and third that I own are paperbacks. So, as kind as she is, she offered to trade her paperback for my hardback! Now my series will look much better on my shelf.

Three more books to go!

I have three more books that came in my wonderful little box today. One is a sort of devotional by Karen Kingsbury, and the other two are part of the Christy Miller collection that I told you about before in this post. Disclaimer: these books, like The Englisher from above, did not come from the thrift store, but were books my cousin already owned and either gave, traded, or sold to me!

The Family of Jesus

This seems to be a mix between a devotional and a Biblical fiction book. I usually stay away from Biblical fiction because I like to think of the people from the Bible the way the Bible talks about them, but I think I will try it out! It is the first book in a two-part series.

Departures

I read half of this book while on a road trip with my cousin, but never got to finish it! I am so excited to finish this book in my beloved Christy Miller series. It contains two short stories that occur between books in the main series.

Christy Miller's Diary

This is exactly what it sounds like! The main books in the series talk about her diary and what she writes, but it will be exciting to read the whole thing. I have been wanting to own this book for a while now, so I am so excited to own it now!

Conclusion
