Welcome to My Book Nook!

Hello, my book-loving friends! My name is Lexi. I am a recent homeschool graduate, and I am currently doing college from home via Liberty University Online, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. I am also the on-site teacher for four of my younger siblings, who are all enrolled in the Abeka Academy homeschool curriculum. Through this post, I hope you can get to know me better!

Why am I starting a book blog?

Honestly? Because I love books! Okay, fine. I haven't always loved books; in fact, I remember being around nine years old and being forced to read a book for school and hating it! I don't know when it happened, but at some point I began to really enjoy it, and now? I can honestly say I am obsessed. To a fault sometimes.... Yeah, I'm talking about at midnight when I should be sleeping, but I'm reading instead. Or when I foolishly leave a book I am reading next to me while I am grading papers or trying to type a paper.... Anyway, I decided to start a book blog because I love talking about books, and I want to talk about them with you! I also want to provide a place where people like me can find clean books to read because, let's be honest, it is extremely hard to find books to read that align with the principles in Philippians 4:13. I have very strict guidelines for what I am comfortable with reading, so I wanted to provide a place where people like me can find amazing book recommendations! I also love to study my Bible and discuss nonfiction Christian books that I am reading by my favorite authors, including John MacArthur, Nancy DeMoss, and Leslie Ludy.

What kind of books do I read and review?

For the most part, I will be doing fiction. My favorite genres include historical fiction, Amish fiction, romantic suspense, contemporary, and pretty much any other clean fiction! I do not read anything with spice or profanity, and if I unknowingly read something with that kind of content, I will most likely never finish it. I love my romance novels... but I do also read non-romance, though not as often. I particularly love reading a long book series because I get a chance to really get to know the characters and dive into their world.

What are my plans for this blog?

In the beginning, I will be starting small. I will have a new post up every Wednesday, with book reviews at different times during the week! At the start of each month, I will share my TBR with you, and throughout the month, I will share reviews for the books I am reading, as well as book recommendations, book tags, and any other bookish-related content!

In the future, I would also love to do a sort of book club, where you can read books with me! If you are interested in possibly doing this in the future, please contact me and subscribe to my newsletter to receive updates!
