What I'm Reading This July

Happy July everyone! I hope you all have a fantastic month! Today, I am going to be sharing my TBR for this month. Also, this month is Kindle Unlimited Month! Although I read books from KU throughout the year, I decided to dedicate one month each year to share with you guys some awesome KU books! So, that means that all books on my TBR are also available on Kindle Unlimited, and who knows? I may finish my TBR and find more books to give you this month!

Here's the TBR:

First up, is the first two books of the Dollar Princess Series by Gabrielle Meyer

In this new series by Gabrielle Meyer, each book is like a retelling of a movie musical! So book 1, To Love a Lady, is based on My Fair Lady. Book 2, To Dance with a Duke, is based on Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I have never heard of or watched these musicals before, but I am excited to dive into the books! I have read To Love a Lady before, but when the second book of the series came out, I decided it would be good to reread it to refresh my memory. And so that I could review it for you guys!

Next, is the first two books of the Lords of the Rockies Series by Misty M. Beller

I have also already read these two books, but I want to review them for you guys because I enjoyed them and I hope you will too! Each book tells the story of one of the sons of an English duke who were sent to live in America when they were very young. This series combines family drama, mail-order brides, and western romance all into one neat little package.

When Enoch Balfour’s eldest brother tragically dies, the weight of family responsibility falls on his shoulders. Now this Montana rancher must train for his role as the next Duke of Clarence—and marry the mail-order bride his brother sent for. Hardened by loss, Enoch has no intention of opening his heart to a stranger, but duty demands he produce an heir.

Mandie Beaumont is a desperate young widow fleeing the sinister advances of her brother-in-law. After arriving in the Montana Territory to marry a man she's never met, an accident leaves her robbed of her recent memories—memories that conceal a devastating secret. Then, I have the first book in the Hagenheim series by Melanie Dickerson

I absolutely love this series! I read them all on Kindle a year ago, but I loved them so much that I had to have physical copies of them all. So, after some hunting, I was able to find all eleven books from various sellers on eBay for a reasonable price. Now, I am so excited to be rereading them! Each book reimagines a classic fairy tale, but places the characters in 14th-century Germany, with some taking place in England. This first book, The Healer's Apprentice, is a retelling of the story of Sleeping Beauty.

Rose has been appointed as a healer’s apprentice at Hagenheim Castle, a rare opportunity for a woodcutter’s daughter like her. While she often feels uneasy at the sight of blood, Rose is determined to prove herself capable. Failure will mean returning home to marry the aging bachelor her mother has chosen for her—a bloated, disgusting merchant who makes Rose feel ill.

When Lord Hamlin, the future duke, is injured, it is Rose who must tend to him. As she works to heal his wound, she begins to understand emotions she’s never felt before and wonders if he feels the same.

But falling in love is forbidden, as Lord Hamlin is betrothed to a mysterious young woman in hiding. As Rose’s life spins toward confusion, she must take the first steps on a journey to discover her own destiny.

Finally, I have two standalone books

I am really excited to review Accused a Traitor by Susan M. Robinson. Once again, this is a book I have read before, but it has come to my attention recently that although this book has been out for about ten years, there are very few Amazon and Goodreads reviews. I have never heard this book talked about, which is a shame because someone worked really hard to write this intriguing story, and I think more people should read it! So, I am rereading this book to review for you guys in hopes that you will pick up this wonderful read! I actually have a bit of a funny story about the second book I have here, Liberty River Rivals by Cora Mabry. While putting together my TBR for this month, I realized that this is Fourth of July month and I had absolutely no books that went along with the holiday! So, I went on Google and literally searched for "Clean Christian books about the 4th of July on Kindle Unlimited," and this was one of the options! Not usually my way of finding new books, but hey, I had to find something!

It's 1870, and Sarah Winston is traveling from Philadelphia where she has attended school. She is excited to be reunited with her brother at his ranch in Texas. Just hours from her destination, she is accused of being a traitor to the Union during war. Before she can defend herself she is brutally arrested by an army patrol and taken to Fort Davis.

Unconscious when she arrives, the doctor assures the arresting officer she is too young to be the woman they have sought. Her accuser refuses to believe the truth and vows to do anything to make sure she pays for her crimes. He is on a quest for revenge and will not let anyone stand in his way. He vows, she will pay, even if he has to shoot her himself.

Nestled in rural western Virginia, the towns of Freedom and Independence are separated by more than just the Liberty River. There's a rivalry between them that stretches back over a hundred years. This summer it's stronger than ever as Addison O'Malley finds himself butting heads with Freedom's public event coordinator, Sutton Granger, in regards to the towns' overlapping Fourth of July parades.

A case of mistaken identity quickly leads to a closer relationship with Sutton than Addison ever imagined. Underneath her professional personality and borderline fanatical dedication to her hometown, Addison senses there's something she isn't telling him - something she isn't telling anyone. Will he be able to discover what's behind the walls of Sutton's heart before their time as coworkers comes to an end?
